The 8th grade Dowell Lions played the Prosper Rogers last night at Boyd Stadium. At the end of the night, your Dowell Lions came away with 2 LOSSES.
The Blue Team result was a 31 – 0 Loss. It was a hard-fought game all night long in the rainy conditions. The Lions never quit throughout the entire ballgame fighting the Eagles until the final horn sounded.
The White Team result was a 6 – 0 LOSS. The offense moved the ball all night long but just could not find the end zone. The defense played well by making plays to keep the Eagles more than one touchdown.

7th grade summary
The Dowell Lions A team faced off against Scott Johnson Tigers @ Mckinney North stadium. After a 45 minute rain delay, Ashton Kahn started things off on fire with a 60 yard run to the endzone on the first play of the game. The very next offensive drive Nick Wesloski hit Will Brownlee on a 40 yard touchdown pass for the score. Defense stood up strong against the Tigers with several tackles for losses and the Defensive play of the night came from Luis Burgos on a interception which led to another offensive drive that ended with another Kahn touchdown. Kahn would finish the night with 3 touchdowns. The game was called early in the 3rd quarter due to lightning with a score of 26-0. That finish advanced the Lions to 4 wins on the season. The Dowell Lions B and C teams combined to play the Scott Johnson Tigers at McKinney North High School Tuesday night. The game was delayed due to rain and lightning. The Lions started the evening behind with an early quick Touchdown from the Tigers. The Lions played a close defensive game the rest of the way but the Tigers would score a late touchdown to put the game away for a final score of 0-16 loss. Key players of the game were Jesus Bourunda with 40 yards rushing on offense and Antonio Di Batista with several tackles for loss of yards.

The Blue Team result was a 24 – 0 LOSS. The Lions fought the entire game with just a few things not going there way. The offense moved the ball well but just could not find the end zone. Defensively, the Lions played hard and kept hitting the Raiders all night long. It was a hard-fought game.
The White Team result was a 20 – 0 LOSS. The Lions came out slow to come out of the gate the first half. The defense turned things around with drive stopping interceptions by TJ Holmes & Carson Burden. The defense did not let the Raiders back into the end zone the entire 2nd half.

The Dowell Lions A team faced off against the Highland Park Raiders @ Mckinney Boyd HS last night. The game got off to a fast start with Raiders getting on the scoreboard first with a long pass to the end zone. But the Lions responded the next drive with a 80 yard touchdown run by Nick Weloski. The game remained close until a fumbled hand off was recovered and returned for a touchdown. Defensive standouts were Harold Witte, Trey Thomas, and Cole Dauper. The Raiders would stay on top for the victory over the Lions with a score of 6-20.
The Dowell Lions played the Highland Park Raiders at McKinney Boyd High School Tuesday night. The Lions would start the evening in a defense battle. Lions defense kept them in game in the 1st half. Late in the 1st half the Raiders would score 2 quick touchdowns and put the game out of reach. The Lions would play a pretty close defensive game the rest way but the Raiders would score on a late touchdown to put the game away with a score of 27 - 8 - Raiders. Key defensive players of the game were Zien Delley with several tackles for loss and and Matthew Manthe with 2 pass breakups. The offensive players of the game were Ryan Clayton with a running touchdown and Xavier Pineda with an excellent point after.
C team played a tough game against Highland Park. Highland Park scored a few touch downs early and another at the end of the game to win 25 to 0. Players of the game were Branden Bell and Mason Murray with big tackles on the defensive side. On the offense Payton Dudley connected 6 pass completions and rushed for 20 yards.
