The Mighty Dowell Band played at the 8th grade football games this week. We appreciate their support! Their sound was great! More Dowell Pride!!
Our MISD Athletic Word of the Week has been “Integrity”. Coaches talked about being honest and fair to all. Putting in an honest day’s work. Playing by the rules and showing sportsmanship. Our Athletes of the Week are: Anissa Lechner, Carson Black, Joey Wiseman, Georgina Chen, Delanie Liong, Ethan Schoch, Anthony Baudino, Collin Drake, Jack Eikmeier, AJ Evanczyk, Amy Gilmore.
Dowell Football won all games vs. Evans!! 8th A & B 7th A, B, C AWESOME!! Our Teams put together some great team efforts in the victories! We work to continue to get better in all areas of the game. Faubion is next Tuesday. 8th @ Ron Poe 7th @ Boyd “Battle of the Lions”
Friday night is Boyd Football Middle School Night @ Ron Poe Stadium. Boys need to wear red shirts and be at the stadium at 6:30 at East Double gate by the Faubion Fieldhouse Coach Meza will meet them to enter stadium.
Dowell Volleyball played Evans Thursday evening. Dowell Lionettes take 4 of 6 from Evans! Lionettes are battling hard and starting to really jell on the court. Lionettes are diving across the wood and saving crazy hits with great efforts to help their team to victory. Faubion is next for our Lionettes.
Dowell Cross Country this Saturday, October 3 @ Jesuit Cross Country Classic.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
8:30 am - arrive at Dowell to get on the bus
11:00 am - middle school boys race 11:25 am - middle school girls race
Oct. 10th We’ll run in the Cockrill Elite Meet.
I know our Dowell Athletes have passion and enthusiasm. They are becoming responsible and respected. I know it’s not easy doing what they do here at DMS. Our world/community needs young adults like them! Celebrate with your young athlete this weekend. Offer them your love and support. We’re all in this together!!
