Our MISD Athletics Word of the Week has been “Resiliency”. Coaches visited with the
athletes about having the strength and courage to bounce back after a setback or defeat.
To believe in themselves and their goals and to strive for being their very best.
Our Athletes of the Week are: Ellie Kostohryz, Michelle Enloe, Ersain Dominguez, Dean
Plummer, Madisen Dawes, Brianna Griffin, Avery Boring, AJ Evanczyk, Trey Hutto, Allie
Zarbaugh, Jaxon Cota, Caden Byrum, Lucas Burkett.
Cross Country will compete in the Panther Run on Monday, Oct. 3rd @ Evans MS. The
event will begin at 5:00pm. This will be a challenging course and the competition increases
each week. The top 15 runners from each school will compete. Running order: 7th Girls, 8th
Girls, 7th Boys, 8th Boys . GO DOWELL CC !!!
Football Teams will take part in the oldest rivalry in the City of McKinney. Dowell vs. Faubion.
Lions vs. Lions. Tues. Oct. 4th 7th grade @ Ron Poe Stadium 8th grade @ Boyd 5:30 Starts
The Dowell Band will perform at the 8th grade games @ Boyd vs. Faubion along with our DMS
Cheerleaders. It will be ROCKING!!!
Volleyball will take on Faubion as well on Oct. 6th @ FMS. Again, Lionettes vs. Lionettes. Blue
vs. White. A Battle on the Courts for sure! 5:00pm starts Our Lionettes will be ready! Wear your
Dowell Spirit wear to the FMS Gym and let’s DOWELL IT OUT!!! GO LIONETTES!!
