7th Grade Volleyball
The Blue and White teams for your 7th grade Lionnettes wrapped up their volleyball season this weekend at the district tournament. Both teams made it into the gold bracket and faced Rogers in the quarterfinals.
The blue team started off with high energy and momentum winning the first set 25-23. We started ahead the second set but fell behind at the end losing 23-25. The third set was a tough one and we lost it 25-17. The blue team improved so much this year and we are so proud of them!
The white team started off the tournament with an awesome win against Rogers. The first game was 25-22 and the second was a nail-biter 27-25. The win allowed them to move on to the district championship against a talented Highland Park. The Lionnettes dropped the first set 25-12. We fought back the second set but fell short again 25-16. The white team ended up 2nd overall. Way to go white team!
8th Grade Volleyball
The Blue and White teams for your 8th grade Lionnettes wrapped up their volleyball season this weekend at the district tournament. The Blue team qualified for the tournament in 4th place for the Gold Bracket and the White team qualified in 6th place for the Silver Bracket.
The Blue team started off with high energy in a hard-fought defensive game against Prosper Rogers but came up short in the first set 21-25. Blue just couldn’t get things rolling in the second set and fell hard to the Eagles 5-25. Presleigh Morris stood out from the crowd with 2 aces and 1 kill, and Zoe McKay had 3 aces from the service line. The Blue team finished the season and the tournament in 4th place overall. Great job, Ladies!
The white team started off the tournament with an awesome 2 set win against Scott Johnson. The first game was 25-15 and the second was 25-19. Emma Demouy had 1 block, 1 kill and 4 aces and Maggie Maple had 2 kills. This win allowed the White team to advance on to the Silver Championship against Cockrill. The Lionnettes dropped the first set 15-25. They continued to fight in the second set but fell short again 12-25. The White team ended up the season and tournament in 6th place overall. These girls have grown so much as players. We are super proud of you all!
