8th Grade
The Dowell Lionettes Eighth Grade volleyball teams played the Evans Panthers tonight winning 1 and losing 2.
The Blue “B” team had quite the mental battle, but ended up losing their set in three games, 7-25, 25-18, and 17-25. Mackenzie Ramirez-Fontana served for 9 points and Morgan Appleby had a solid all around game.
The Gold “A” team fought hard but finished with a loss in two, 23-25 and 23-25. Olivia Tarsi brought the team to life after a rough start. She had 6 kills and 2 blocks for the night. Maddie Wallace was also significant playing a strong defense with 5 digs.
The White “C” team pulled off the victory and won their set in two games, 25-21 and 25-14. Marie Nault had a great night both from the service line and on the court defensively as well as a couple of really good hits. Jackie Pyla set well tonight aiding her team on to win. Morgan Bryan was steady with great serves, passing, and hits.
Our next game is against Faubion at Faubion with the Blue team game starting at 5:00pm followed by the Gold and then White teams. One Heart, One Team, LIONETTES!

7th Grade
The Dowell Lionettes seventh grade volleyball teams swept Evans Middle School in an exciting night of volleyball on October 1.
The Blue “B” team won their set in two momentous games, 25-17 and 25-21. McKenzie Parrish served for eight points and had four solid hits throughout the night. Riley Black served six points and had wonderful hitting decisions and Landry Worsham also had six points and great passes to target. Great job to the entire squad!
The Gold “A” team battled in a tri-fecta with Evans to come out on top, 25-13, 23-25 and 25-20. Ainsley Spangle served for 18 points and had 15 hits at the net. Middle blocker, Peyton Smith, had 15 strategic hits at the net and Janessa Crawford served for 16 points, including 7 Aces. Great job to the entire team for working hard!
Closing out the evening, the White “C” team dominated in two games, 25-15 and 25-18. Setter, Brooklyn McCally, served for 21 points, including 10 Aces. Baylee Burgess, solid at the net, had three hits and a tip. Amy Gilmore put up 10 amazing passes to target to set up the offense. This was a great team win!
