8th Grade
The Dowell Lionettes Eighth Grade volleyball teams won 1 and lost 2 to the Rockwall Wildcats wins tonight.
The Blue “B” team lost their set in two games, 17–25, 22-25. Mackenzie Ramirez-Fontana had a strong defensive night. Sydney Bodie had 5 kills offensively to lead the team.
The Gold “A” team won in two 25-20, 25-18. Olivia Tarsi had a great game with 5 kills and 2 blocks. PJ Marano hustled on defense and had a great run at the service line serving for 4 and 7 points in a row respectively.
The White “C” team finished with a loss in 2, 16-25 and 23-25. Macy Thompson had a phenomenal game as our libero with multiple saves. Brooke Meyer hit very well with 3 kills and also played great defensive.
Our next game is against at home against Evans starting with the Blue game at 5:00pm. One Heart, One Team, LIONETTES!

7th Grade
The Dowell Lionettes seventh grade volleyball teams played against Rockwall Williams Middle School on last night in 3 exciting games.
The Blue “B” team won their set in three games, with scores of 21-25, 25-15, and 25-13. Setter Sam Allen had 8 serving aces and 5 kills throughout the night. Outside hitter Madison Whiddon contributed 5 serving aces and 4 strong hits during the games. Middle blocker McKenzie Parrish had great play at the net with 10 hits, including 3 kills. Great job ladies!
The Gold “A” team fought hard in 2 games but unfortunately did not pull out a win, losing 19-25 and 23-25. Ainsley Spangle served 12 points during evening and had 13 kills at the net. Setters Lily Meyer and Laura Mullings had 40 great assists to hitters all night long. Great job to the entire team for working hard and fighting until the end!
Closing out the evening, the White “C” team pulled out an awesome win in three games with scores of 25-21, 23-25, and 25-18. Brooke Shelton served 12 points during the night. Baylee Burgess had 4 strong hits at the net. Defensive specialist Amy Gilmore served 10 points and had great passes during the night. Great job to everyone for a wonderful win!
