Thursday night your 7th grade volleyball team swept Cockrill at home.
B team started off with one of their best wins of the season in two sets, 25-11 and 25-9. Aniyah Johnson was a force on the front row with 5 kills, Ava Alexander led the team in digs, and Shelbi Kozlowski had 6 aces.
A team followed up with a much closer game but still pulled it out in 2, winning 25-19 and 28-26. Sasha Purdin had 2 blocks, Miley Kelty had 4 aces, and Shealyn Murray had 7 kills.
C team wrapped up the night with a nail biting 3 set win 27-25, 19-25, and 15-9. Kady Huggins had 5 assists, Milana Boesch had 3 kills, and Audrey Redding had 3 digs.
The 8th grade Lionettes B Team kicked off the night at Boyd High School with a 25-15, 25-19 win over Cockrill. Madeline O’Malley led the charge with 13 straight service points in set 1. She also had 5 digs. Allie Stephenson played a great match also with 7 kills and 2 aces.
The A Team defeated Cockrill 27-25, 25-16 as Natalie Ferracioli led the way defensively for the A team with 17 digs along with 8 service points. Mallory Cormier added 6 kills while Avery Johnston added 5 kills. Kayla Griffith had a great all-around game with 10 digs, 5 kills, and 3 aces.
The C Team out lasted Cockrill after dropping the first set 22-25. Dowell bounced back in the next 2 sets winning 25-13, and 15-11. Lucy Anosike had 7 kills. Riley Rogers added 5 aces. Macie Whiddon had 3 blocks and 2 kills.
