8th Grade
The Dowell Lionettes Eighth grade volleyball teams came out strong in our first games of the season against the Faubion Lionettes.
The Blue “B” team won their set in two games, 25-22, 25-11. Lauryn Hume excelled with 11 assists, 1 ace, 1 block, and 1 kill. Celeste Darling had 4 kills, touches on the block. Abigail Puhala and Andie Baldridge had a great night from the serving line.
The Gold “A” team fought hard but lost in three, 22-25, 25-19, 25-27. Makenna Kelty had 11 kills and 1 tip. Kinley Schnell had 4 kills, 1 tip, and a great serving night. Carly Rucker had a great defensive game.
Closing out the evening, the White “C” team finished with a win in two, 25-14, 25-19. Lindsey Lange had 2 kills and 3 aces. Ali Herbert had 2 kills and an ace. Grace Boggs and Cassidy Bergenthal had 11 assists combined.
Next set is against the Cockrill Cowgirls on September 18th at home, starting at 5:00pm. The Gold team will kick off their tournament season at the Allen Open on Saturday, September 20th. One Heart, One Team, LIONETTES!

The Blue “B” team won their set in two games, 25-19 and 25-14. Anissa Lechner had 9 points, with 2 of them being aces. Consistent over all play from Brooke Mayer and Rylee John led to a great victory. Way to go!
The Gold “A” team fought hard in 3 games , winning the first game 25-20 but sadly losing 8-25 and 4-25 in the last two games. Morgan Appleby contributed 6 points with her awesome serves and 3 assists to great hitters. Olivia Tarsi had two dynamic kills at the net and Madison Wallace had solid defensive skills on the court. Excellent job ladies!
Closing out the evening, the White “C” team finished with a hard-fought game but barely lost, 20-25 and 24-26. Jacquelyn Murray had 4 ace serves, and Ashlyn Voss, Marie Nault and Olivia Bettin all had a great kill. Proud of your hard work!
