The Dowell Lionettes Eighth Grade volleyball teams swept the Evans Panthers with 3 wins last night!

The Blue “B” team won their set in two games, 25-11 and 25-19..  Hope Scheelar had a stong defensive night along aggressive serves at the line.   Abigail Puhala 3 back row attacks kills.  Emma Gener and Kamryn Wheatland combined for 21 assists.   

The Gold “A” team won in two25-16 and 25-13. Kinley Schnell, Carly Rucker and Makenna Kelty played strong defensively.  Makenna and Avery Voss had 3 kills each.

The White “C” team finished with a win in 2, 25-14 and 25-14. Amaya Cudgo had 4 aces and Courtney Briggs had a solid defensive night.  Grace Boggs, Amaya Cudgo and Lindesy Lange each had two kills.

Our next game is against at Faubion on October 9th starting with the Blue game at 5:00pm. One Heart, One Team, LIONETTES!

The Dowell Lionettes seventh grade volleyball teams played against Evans Middle School on October 2.

 The Blue “B” team lost their set in three hard-fought games, 25-16, 14-25 and 20-25.  Sydney Boddie and Anissa Lechner each had 3 tips and Macie McCraw had 13 serving points, including 3 aces.  Hollie Studdard had 7 hits, 3 kills and 8 points throughout the night.  Great job to the entire squad!

 The Gold “A” team fought hard in 2 games but unfortunately did not pull out a win, losing 24-26 and 15-25.  Shelby Luther contributed 10 points, including 3 aces, and had 6 hits throughout the night.  Morgan Appleby had 7 points serving, a tip and a hit.  PJ Marano and Sailor O’Gara both had great saves during the night and awesome defensive play.  Great job to the entire team for working hard!

 Closing out the evening, the White “C” team pulled out an awesome win in three games with scores of 24-26, 25-12 and 25-16.  Morgan Bryan had Olivia Bettin each had 7 aces and 4 kills.  Ashlyn Voss had killer hits and great serves throughout the night, and Abby Lemon had an amazing save to help solidfy the win.  Great job to everyone for a wonderful game!

The Dowell Lionettes Eighth Grade volleyball teams fought hard against the Rockwall Williams Wildcats.

The Blue “B” team won their set in two games, 26-24 and 25-18.  Hope Scheelar had a great defensive night along with 3 kills.   Abigail Puhala served us back 6 points to win the first game. 

The Gold “A” team fought hard and but lost in two, 18-25 and 21-25. Kinley Schnell and Lauren Hume served aggressively from the line.  Makenna Kelty, Kinley Schnell and Alyssa Spangle combined for 12 kills.

The White “C” team finished with a loss in three, 25-19, 23-25 and 17-25. Amaya Cudgo and Anna Schaar earned lots of points from the serving line.  Skyler Struck and Lindsey Lange both contributed with a number of kills.

Next set is against the Evans Panthers at Boyd High school on October 2nd starting with the Blue game at 5:00pm. One Heart, One Team, LIONETTES!

The Dowell Lionettes seventh grade volleyball teams played against Rockwall Williams Middle School on September 25.

The Blue “B” team lost their set in two games, 19-25 and 26-28.  Maddie Black had 2 serving aces, 1 kill and 1 assist to an awesome kill.  Anissa Lechner had 1 serving ace, 2 kills and a great assist to a hitter.  Brooke Mayer contributed 11 points throughout the night.  Great job to these ladies!

The Gold “A” team fought hard in 2 games but unfortunately did not pull out a win, losing 16-25 and 23-25.  Madison Wallace contributed 7 points, great passes and an awesome save.  Morgan Appleby had 6 points, including an ace.  Olivia Tarsi had 8 hits, including 2 amazing kills.  Great job to the entire team for working hard and fighting until the end!

Closing out the evening, the White “C” team pulled out an awesome win in three games with scores of 8-25, 25-23 and 25-23.  Morgan Bryan had 17 points, and 11 of those were aces!  Incredible!  Kylie Higgins had 2 fantastic saves, 2 great assists to hitters and overall great passes during the night.  Katie Altizer closed out the evening with 6 points and scored the game winning point!  Great job to everyone for a wonderful win!

The Blue “B” team won their set in two games, 25-18, 25-22. Celeste Darling had 3 aces and 2 kills.  Hope Scheelar had 4 kills.   Abigail Puhala had 4 aces and played defense well.

The Gold “A” team fought hard and won in three, 25-17, 21-25, 25-20. Makenna Kelty had 7 kills and 1 tip.  Both Landri Maxfield  and Avery Voss had 4 blocks each.

Closing out the evening, the White “C” team finished with a win in two, 25-14, 25-10. Grace Boggs had 7 aces.  Courtney Briggs and Anna Schaar played great defensive as well.

Next set is against the Rockwall Williams Middle School in Rockwall on September 25th starting with the White game at 5:30pm. The Gold team will kick off their tournament season at the Allen Open this Saturday, September 20th.  One Heart, One Team, LIONETTES!

The Blue “B” team lost their set in two games, 18-25 and 17-25.  Hollie Studdard had two kills from the front row and 4 serving aces.  Kayla Minst had 2 assists and a kill and Madison Maguire had a kill.  Anissa Lechner also had 2 assists to hitters in the front row. Way to play, ladies!

The Gold “A” team fought hard in 2 games but unfortunately did not pull out a win, losing 20-25 and 7-25.  Sailor O’Gara contributed 7 points with her serves, including two aces.  Olivia Tarsi had two vibrant kills at the net and Trinity Dudek had 5 assists to hitters in the front row.  Excellent job ladies! 

Closing out the evening, the White “C” team pulled out a win in three games with scores of 25-16, 20-25 and 25-17.  Campbell Shelton served 12 points, including 7 aces!  Olivia Bettin had 3 assists to front row hitters, and Ashlyn Voss had a great kill at the net.  Way to win!

The Dowell Lionettes Eighth grade volleyball teams came out strong in our first games of the season against the Faubion Lionettes.

The Blue “B” team won their set in two games, 25-22, 25-11. Lauryn Hume excelled with 11 assists, 1 ace, 1 block, and 1 kill.  Celeste Darling had 4 kills, touches on the block.  Abigail Puhala and Andie Baldridge had a great night from the serving line.  

The Gold “A” team fought hard but lost in three, 22-25, 25-19, 25-27. Makenna Kelty had 11 kills and 1 tip.  Kinley Schnell had 4 kills, 1 tip, and a great serving night.  Carly Rucker had a great defensive game.

Closing out the evening, the White “C” team finished with a win in two, 25-14, 25-19. Lindsey Lange had 2 kills and 3 aces.  Ali Herbert had 2 kills and an ace. Grace Boggs and Cassidy Bergenthal had 11 assists combined.

Next set is against the Cockrill Cowgirls on September 18th at home, starting at 5:00pm. The Gold team will kick off their tournament season at the Allen Open on Saturday, September 20th.  One Heart, One Team, LIONETTES!

The Dowell Lionettes seventh grade volleyball teams played some great games against Faubion Middle School on September 11.

The Blue “B” team won their set in two games, 25-19 and 25-14.  Anissa Lechner had 9 points, with 2 of them being aces.  Consistent over all play from Brooke Mayer and Rylee John led to a great victory. Way to go!

The Gold “A” team fought hard in 3 games , winning the first game 25-20 but sadly losing 8-25 and 4-25 in the last two games.  Morgan Appleby contributed 6 points with her awesome serves and 3 assists to great hitters.  Olivia Tarsi had two dynamic kills at the net and Madison Wallace had solid defensive skills on the court.  Excellent job ladies! 

Closing out the evening, the White “C” team finished with a hard-fought game but barely lost, 20-25 and 24-26. Jacquelyn Murray had 4 ace serves, and Ashlyn Voss, Marie Nault and Olivia Bettin all had a great kill.  Proud of your hard work!
