Rachel's Challenge exists to inspire, equip, and empower every person to create a permanent, positive culture change in the school and community by starting a chain reaction of kindness and compassion. 

Rachel's Challenge and the Dowell Middle School family recently participated in the Susan G. Komen "Change For The Cure" in support of Breast Cancer Awarness October 10th- October 28th. The students and staff worked together to collect change and donations in hopes of reaching our goal of $1,220.00.
We proudly surpassed our goal and raised $1,502.36. The money collected will help support local education, screening and treatment programs, and national scientific research.

Each year it is estimated that nearly 200,000 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer and more than 40,000 will die.  Approximately 1,700 men will also be diagnosed with Breast Cancer and 450 will die each year.  While Breast Cancer is about 100X more common in women, many people don’t realize that MEN have breast tissue and that they can develop Breast Cancer as well.
