Dowell has been in the week of Basketball Tryouts and there is plenty of energy and excitement throughout the building. Athletes trying out are giving great efforts on the hardwood. Girls and Boys Coaches are impressed with the attitudes and energy being shown during tryouts.
Our MISD/DMS Athletic Word of the Week is “Teamwork”: Coaches talked about the cooperative work needed to be a team in practice, in attitudes, in spirit/support of each other and a unified effort to reach success. Our Athletes of the Week are:
Evan Porter, Josh Moore, Cassidy Bergenthal, Trinity Dudek, Kylie Burton, Cade Briggs,
Ethan Saetre, Ava Slade and Edom Kidane.

On Friday, Nov. 21st, Dowell will host James Vilade as a guest speaker. He is from the
Texas Rangers/Frisco Rough Riders organization and a former collegiate head baseball
coach. He will visit with our 7th / 8th grade boys about Character, Respect, Responsibility
as a young male athlete. We’re positive this will support our MISD Athletic Character
program and benefit our young athletes. 3:00pm in the DMS Cafeteria
McKinney Boyd Football Playoff Game tonight 6:00pm Cowboys Stadium Arlington
Boyd will battle Keller Fossil Ridge.
McKinney North Football Playoff Game tonight 7:00pm Plano Kimbrough Stadium
North will battle Frisco Wakeland.
